BIOPAR® was first introduced on November 2002. The first stores that sold products manufactured from BIOPAR® were all well-known supermarkets and convenience stores in the Netherlands. Biop Biopolymer Technologies AG succeeded in producing a plastic product almost indestinguishable from conventional plastic made from common polyolefin’s. Some of the properties of BIOPAR are even better than those of a conventional plastics. To differenciate BIOPAR®, the material was tinted a green colour. Now four years after the introduction of BIOPAR® green tinted films are associated with biodegradable / compostable products made from renewable resources. However even without this colour it is easily to distinguish BIOPAR® from conventional plastics. |

We believe, in a world where more than 80% of waste is dumped in landfill sites or littered in the environment; there is an opportunity for improvement , by using compostable and biodegradable plastics for disposable products we are able to conserve fossil resources and preserve the environment. BIOPAR® does not need extra care in waste management, you can either, compost, incinerate, use in landfill, re-pulp, etc. We consider BIOPAR® (BP) as a viable alternative to Poly-Amide (PA), Poly-Ethylene (PE), raw materials used in the plastic industry. Biop Biopolymer does not replace all common plastics, however Biop Biopolymers provides sustainable and environmentally friendly products with the potential to enhance the image of the packaging industry. Setting new standards, new market positions andcost effective solutions. BIOPAR® is produced on a similar scale to common for Polyolefin’s, and competes in price with most conventional plastics. |
